![]() Imperial fleet tacticians and engineers often scoffed at the ideas, but Antokra Za, the Supreme placed in charge of overseeing funding and upkeep up Imperial Mendel forces, was interested, and bankrolled several fleet designs for the Mendel, first and foremost the Lancer-class. The Lancer-class was the first of such vessels, built under orders from Chokuto Gredyc a year after their joining of the Empire, and created to fill a gap in Imperial fleet protocols, with a focus on fast, anti-fighter fire power that other vessels couldn't fill. Given the resources of the Empire, combined with their own, they began their own operations against the Mendel Pact to gain control of the Kingdom, though also began focusing their efforts on building their own ships and such, hoping to honor the Empire and gift them with powerful ship designs of their own, to bolster the fleets of the Empire. The Lancer was developed after the creation of the Imperial Mendel Movement and their breaking away from the main Mendel Pact to assist the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus. Lancers have since become commonly used by the depleted manpower of certain Imperial Remnants, due to a greater focus on Fighter-combat. They are, however, fragile and rely more on speed then the similar and larger Lictor and Carrack-classes that were constructed and designed after the Lancer's completion. Lancers are fast, nimble, can burn through fighters in no time, and are durable for a ship their size and armor rating, a given from their Mendel armor background. This ships serve in an anti-fighter role for the Imperial-Mendel, and are used by the Empire proper to test out the effectiveness of the Ship Class, hoping that they will be able to work out any bugs or short-comings with the weapon so that future Imperial naval vessels are more useful. The Lancer-class Frigate is a specialized vessel, constructed and built by the Imperial Mendel through the hybridization of Imperial and Mendel fleet designs and technologies, bearing the stereotypical boxy, heavy front of most Mendel vessels, while have most of the internal workings based on Imperial designs, and crewed by Imperials that have been tasked as "cultural Advisors" to the Mendel. The New Republic and Resistance rely on fighter aces, so force them to fight war on your terms, with the fast and deadly Lancer-class.” ![]() “ The goal is not to destroy the enemy, but leave them so weakened, targeting their greatest strength.
